The Freshman Interdisciplinary Team (FIT) program was designed by EHS teachers to help freshmen, who come from more than forty middle schools throughout Dane County, get to know their classmates. The program helps students develop a sense of belonging to the EHS community and prepares freshmen academically for the next three years of high school. The teachers create interdisciplinary projects that utilize research, logic, interpretation, critical analysis, essay writing, and debates which help freshmen acquire skills that will be useful in their academic careers and in life.
The FIT classes for all freshmen include:
- English I
- Group Guidance
- U.S. History
The FIT Schedule
FIT takes place each morning during mods 3, 4, and 5, with the religion classes meeting outside of the block. Students attend other classes, which meet for 45 minutes, on the traditional mod schedule during mods 1, 2, and 6 through 9.
