Edgewood in the Community

Edgewood High School is built on a foundation of Catholic service to the community. As an integral part of our homecoming activities, the entire student body, faculty, and staff puts down the books for a day of volunteering. This service day jump-starts students’ excitement for our mission to serve and gives them an early opportunity to connect with work and organizations they may serve in the future. The 2019 Edgewood in the Community is Wednesday, September 25. After a prayer service, students board two dozen buses, which take them to randomly assigned locations. Students work in groups that include members of all four grades, a faculty/staff leader, and sometimes a parent volunteer.

Who We Serve

Students serve meals, harvest pantry vegetables, tutor children, clean community centers, spend time with seniors and more, all throughout the Madison area. Edgewood in the Community is just the start of service! Every school year, students volunteer about 15,000 hours and each student graduates with at least 100 hours of service. Most give more than 200 hours.
