Students gathered for the Catholic Schools Week liturgy

 

"Edgewood students live out our Catholic Sinsinawa Dominican mission and values in many ways.  Here at Edgewood we:

  • Celebrate School-wide liturgies and prayer services on a regular basis.
  • Celebrate Catholic Schools Week with school-wide activities.
  • Provide regular weekly small-group  prayer/liturgical opportunities.
  • Study the Sinsinawa Dominican Mission and Values.
  • Require one hundred hours of service for graduation.
  • Require Religious Studies courses each semester.
  • Require yearly retreats.

Campus Ministry at Edgewood:

  • Plans regular all-school liturgies and prayer services.
  • Operates our Service Program
  • Plans and carries out retreats
  • Plans and operates the Virginia Service Trip
  • Plans regular Eucharistic Celebrations in the Absence of a Priest. 
  • Offers an optional C.R.O.S.S. retreat.
 

Religious Studies at Edgewood:

  • Requires students to take one course each semester.
  • Provides opportunities for prayer within each course.
  • Implements a service component in each course.

Service:

  • By serving, students experience many ways to love their neighbor in need, as Christ did.
  • 100 hours of service are required for graduation.
  • Service both inside and outside of the Edgewood community is required
  • Freshmen give a minimum 10 hours, upperclassmen a minimum 30 hours/year.
  • All participate in the annual Edgewood in the Community service day and a junior service retreat.
  • By graduation, many students have contributed 200+ hours.
