The school philosophy of Edgewood focuses its attention on the personal worth and growth of each unique person, and the Student Services Department directs its efforts toward the recognition of this philosophy.  It is recognized that guidance involves the total development of the individual; therefore, all school staff members are part of the program.  Specifically, the department has three full-time counselors, all professionally qualified.  Most of the counselor's time is involved in student contacts.  The major concern of these contacts is educational, but they also include vocational and personal counseling.  There is good professional rapport among counselors and counselees, parents, faculty and alumni.
