Trustee Academic Award
The Trustee Academic Award recognizes those students who have shown
high academic achievement (3.75 or above) throughout middle school, in
addition to leadership, volunteer service and extra-curricular involvement.
Academic Achievement, including 7th and 8th grade records, standardized test
scores, and attendance records account for 80% of the weighted criteria.
Extracurricular involvement, recommendation letters and student essay account
for another 20% of the application.
Any registered incoming freshman can apply for the TAAP, regardless of financial
need. Five freshman students are selected on the above criteria by a scholarship
panel and are awarded $1000 per year for four years, totaling a $4000 scholarship.
Students are eligible for the award renewal each year as long as they maintain a
3.5 GPA and are in good standing with the school.
Lance Johnson Award Program
The Lance Johnson Award has similar criteria to the TAAP award, except
the emphasis is more on financial need. Applicants must be registered for
freshman year and have submitted a financial aid application* to the
business office by the deadline. There is not a GPA requirement, but students'
applications are weighed on academic achievement, leadership qualities, volunteer
service and financial need. The number of students and the amount of the
scholarship depends on the number of applicants. Awards can range from
$500-$1500 and continue for four years as long as the student remains in good standing.
