Attending Edgewood has changed the way I study and work at school…. I always have to put my best into everything…. This new work ethic helps me in every branch of my life…
Edgewood provides teachers who care about my success and push me to think outside the box.
I like that Edgewood offers so many Honors and AP classes for those who want to take them.
The teachers and staff know who you are and they know your name.
I can be challenged in my classes but can still feel comfortable asking for help from my teachers.
There is always someone to help you. I am never in fear of falling behind or not understanding.
I appreciate Edgewood's fine arts program, band, art, painting, choir, musicals and other fine arts….
The teachers…are very relaxed, which makes it easier to learn. They are…fun and very energetic ….
I appreciate Edgewood for its dedication to its students' success….

Being a new kid was something I had never experienced before, but with the FIT classes and mixing up groups…within a month or two, I knew the entire class and felt as if I had known these people for years.
FIT allows me to be friends with people I would never have met on my own.
The sense of community allows you [to]…not need to worry about being teased or bullied.
The teachers really seem to connect with you…. I came from a big school, and they just had too many kids.
In high school there are situations that are hard to address. The teachers and staff do a fantastic job of helping no matter what the situation may be.
There are many extracurricular activities to get involved in and you can always feel…part of the school ….
I always feel safe and comfortable at Edgewood. (Transfer freshman)
[EHS kids are] always ready to welcome new students and help them through their journey …. (Transfer)
It is very easy to make friends and find a good group of people who will motivate you positively.

I feel [EHS] opens my eyes and heart to realize how close I can really be to God. …attending Edgewood has made my faith sky rocket. I don't think I have ever been this close to God.
Going to Edgewood has made me a better person and strengthened my faith and conscience in many ways that I would never have expected. (Catholic student)
It can be hard to meet friends who you can talk to about your faith…. I really appreciated that [this is available at EHS] because it can be very hard to come by these days.
The students are expected to live up to the values of Compassion, Truth, Justice, Community and Partnership. These values are used in our daily lives.
I have met a lot of teachers who have helped and inspired me. They are more than teachers, they are role models.
Edgewood helps me [do my] part in the community ….
By talking about my religion, I am expressing myself, which Edgewood lets me do.
I truly appreciate being…where my beliefs and values are respected. (Non-Catholic)
This school has awaked a part of me I never knew existed. …I want to continue learning more.

Here everyone is treated [equally]. Things are not based off of race, background or money.
I can be myself because everyone is so accepting of everyone and no one judges people in a bad way.
[EHS] provides a good community with good morals, which I like as well as my parents. (Jewish student)
I have made a lot of friends here who like me for who I am ….
[I] feel very proud that I am going here so I can be an example for my people .... (Native American student)
Being a Christian who is not a Catholic, I believe the school is very welcoming of differences ….
In nearly every aspect of every school day we are learning how to work both together and individually to make our community safe, enjoyable and rich.
I thought at first that I might not fit in but now…I have seen how good a community EHS is ....
Everyone here at Edgewood is part of one large, strong community. We all look out for each other even when we don't know each other that well. …everyone here will stand by me through the struggles of high school ….

An Edgewood student goes above and beyond…to become intelligent, disciplined, and a leader.
Edgewood is full of so many opportunities....
I am confident that by the end of my time here at Edgewood I will be more than ready for anything life wants to throw at me.
[EHS] has helped me really step out of my comfort zone and feel good about myself.
I have learned many things about myself like how strong a Catholic I can be, how hard of a worker I can be, and how good a friend I can be. Edgewood has made me a better person already ….
My mom wanted me to [go here]…and now that I'm here you would not be able to peel me away.
Every day I go to EHS excited to see my amazing friends and teachers, [who] help me so much.
I went to public school [before EHS]. The other day I told a friend, I love public school, but I am IN love with Edgewood. That's just how I feel about it ....
…Edgewood is completely worth it.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
[Our son has received a] nurturing yet disciplined education…in school, athletics and life...
Being a parent is the most important job any of us will ever have…and EHS has greatly enhanced our success as parents….
My wife and I felt Edgewood would be a better fit for our youngest. The gamble has paid off and then some.
We view the investment made in [our son's] high school education as the smartest money we've spent during this difficult financial time.
After finally transferring [our daughter into EHS] sophomore year, I understood why so many people were happy with Edgewood.
We moved across the country when our daughter was entering her senior year and our son ... a freshman. Their transition could not have been easier.
We live about an hour south of Madison. ...The entire FIT program [is]….designed to quickly help kids meet new people.... Having been through this program I know it is good.
EHS has exceeded our expectations. My son has experienced academic success through the small class sizes, the many excellent and involved teachers...the Learning Resource Center. The coaches go above and beyond … They have been very influential in shaping the lives of the student-athlete[s].
It takes commitment to send your child to EHS…. In turn, the immediate response from EHS is commitment to your child, her education, his well-being, and his growth as an individual and a scholar. Teachers are always available.... Teachers are present in their students' lives...at dances, drama events, sporting events - just about everything…. I am certain that the level of commitment thus defined is in a different league at EHS than anywhere else….
After my daughter shadowed she said, "It's ok to be smart here.... Kids raise their hands and ask questions and no one laughs at them."
Our senior has been transformed into a confident, creative, fearless leader and compassionate citizen. We could not be happier with EHS.
As a parent, I looked forward to the high school years with some nervousness, but Edgewood has made it so easy. Who would have thought that teenagers could be so productive, confident and happy? I give Edgewood a ton of the credit for that.
WHY TEACHERS & STAFF CHOOSE EHS
[EHS uses] a team approach where teachers, parents, staff, administrators, coaches, and peers communicate together to provide a solid four years of learning and life experiences for all our students.
The Dominican values and faith-based education bring out the best in students and faculty….
I choose to teach at EHS because of the personal connection I am able to make with my students. I am able to work with kids on…thinking of others besides themselves through the service and retreat program. I am able to dialogue with students about their faith and help them as they discern and discover their own beliefs. The atmosphere in the school is healthy and happy. I enjoy coming into the building every day.
Working at EHS you feel connected and hopeful toward your students. Whether it is providing academic rigor or challenging students to think about the needs of others, we want our kids to understand and reach their own potential.
I love working at EHS because the entire environment - among and between both students and adults - respects hard work and creativity, supports who each person is, and works toward shared goals - to live a life of giving through education and faith.
The students at Edgewood are so special; working with them is a real treat. I never think of teaching as a job but as an enriching, rewarding experience.
