Throughout the school year, events are held that
bring members of the larger Edgewood High School
community together for a time of fellowship, fun and support for EHS. The success of Edgewood's fundraising events is achieved largely through a combination of strong attendance and the commitment of volunteers who plan and oversee the events. We strongly encourage you to take part in fund raising special events. They are an ideal way to meet new families and have a great time, all in support of the high school.
ALUMNI & FRIENDS REUNION WEEKEND - August
The EHS Alumni Association helps sponsor a weekend
of events for Edgewood alumni and their parents,
parents of current students, and friends. Weekend events include a banquet where new members are inducted into the
Athletic and Fine Arts Halls of Fame,
recognition is given to distinguished
alumni, and
long-time supporters and faculty are
thanked for their contributions to the
school. A hospitality tent provides a
cordial gathering place for anyone in
the Edgewood community. The
Golden Years Luncheon, particularly
for older EHS alumni and friends, is an
informal time to meet and reminisce, and
school tours showcase new additions as well
as familiar haunts. The Edgewood Athletic
Association hosts it annual Kick-off Raffle (see below) with proceeds benefitting Crusader athletics. The weekend closes
with an all-community Mass on the EHS grounds. For
more information about the weekend events, contact Director
of Alumni Relations
Tammy Ehrmann at 257-1023 , ext. 185.
EAA RAFFLE (Athletics) - August
Each summer, the Edgewood Athletic Association
sponsors a gathering where alumni, parents and friends
come together to show their support of Edgewood Athletics
and have a chance to win a variety of prizes, including
$10,000. Admission to the event is $100 and includes a raffle
ticket, dinner and a cash/open bar. Additional raffle tickets are
$100 each. Proceeds from the event directly benefit EHS
Athletics. For more information, contact Athletic
Director
Chris Zwettler at 257-1023, ext. 144.
NFL RAFFLE (Athletics) - Fall semester
This is an annual raffle for football
enthusiasts. Families of students participating
on athletic teams are asked to sell tickets or cover the cost
of the tickets themselves. For $20 per ticket, participants
receive randomly pre-selected NFL teams in three-team
combinations that differ for each week of the 17-week
NFL season. Winning tickets are those with the three-team
combinations amassing the highest score for the weekend.
Other weekly statistics earn prizes as well. Proceeds from
the sale of NFL Raffle tickets benefit Crusader Athletics.
For more information, contact Athletic Director
Chris Zwettler at 257-1023, ext. 144.
POINSETTIA SALE (Athletics) - Oct/Nov.
The Edgewood Athletic Association inserts an order form
for its annual poinsettia sale in the October issue of Edge
on the News school newsletter. (The form is also available at that time on this website.) Parents or others who wish
to purchase plants
complete the form and
return it to the Athletic
Office or any Athletic
Association board
member. Poinsettias are
usually delivered by the
first week in December.
All proceeds from the sale of the
plants benefit Edgewood Athletics. For more information,
contact Athletic Director
Chris Zwettler at 257-1023, ext. 144.
TRIVIA NIGHT (Music Programs) - November
One of Edgewood's newest fund raising events is the EHS
Music Boosters Association Trivia Night. Tables of eight are
sold for $200 and include free wine, beer, soda and water.
Food is not provided, but participants are welcome to bring in
their own hors d'oeuvres. In addition to several rounds of fun
and interesting trivia, each table's team is encouraged to
choose a theme, decorate its table and dress in costumes. Cash
prizes are awarded for the first, second and third place teams
in the trivia contest. Prizes are also awarded for most creative
table decorations and costumes. To
reserve a table or to provide other
assistance contact the president of
the Music Boosters Association,
Kathy Wall at 256-9489 (home) or
212-4602 (cell).
AUCTION, SOCIAL & RAFFLE (Annual Fund/Financial Aid) - April
Edgewood High School's largest annual fundraising event
invites current parents, alumni and their parents, EHS friends
and supporters from throughout the community to attend a
wonderful evening of fun, great food, an open bar, live and
silent auctions and raffles all in support of the school. Local
businesses, faculty and staff, friends and parents also support
the event by donating items or volunteering to serve on one
of the many committees that make this a special evening. The
"Best of the Live Auction" raffle allows the winner to select
and thereby remove one item (e.g., vacation trips, sports
tickets, unique collectibles and the prized student parking)
from the live auction. The silent auction tables include items
for everyone's budget, from $25 opening bids on up. Tickets
for the event, including food and beverages, are $50 each and
"Best of the Live Auction" raffle tickets are an additional $50
each. For more information, contact Director of Institutional Advancement

COACH EARL J. WILKE GOLF OUTING (Athletics) - June
For almost 20 years, the EHS Athletic Department has
hosted the Wilke Golf Outing honoring beloved teacher and
coach, Earl J. Wilke. Coach Wilke joined the Edgewood
faculty in 1929 as a biology and physical education teacher
and coach. He continued to coach basketball until 1958 and
football until 1965, but his affiliation with the school lasted
into the 1980s when he worked to raise funds as the head of
the Athletic Association. This annually sold-out event has
become a true EHS tradition. The day includes golf, hors
d'oeuvres, cash bar and a mini-raffle. All proceeds directly
benefit Edgewood Athletics. For more information, contact
Athletic Director Chris Zwettler at 257-1023, ext. 144 or Athletic Secretary
Barb Kolb
at 257-1023, ext. 170.
NORTHWOODS GOLF GETAWAY (Annual Fund/Financial Aid) - June
Each June, supporters of EHS gather in
the north woods of Wisconsin at one of the state's premier
resorts for two-and-a-half days of golf, tremendous food,
exceptional accommodations, networking and a great deal
of fun, all in support of Edgewood. Participants pay $1,000
to attend the Getaway, which includes greens fees, food,
lodging, event transportation and event gifts. Headquarters
for the event is the Red Crown Lodge in Minocqua, and golf
takes place at three of northern Wisconsin's finest courses.
