Learning Resource Center

High Schoolers perform their best when they are understood, seen and feel a sense of belonging. But, a day in the life of a neurodiverse teenager can sometimes feel uncomfortable and chaotic. The Learning Resource Center (LRC) aims to support neurodiverse and neurotypical students alike by embedding in-house tutoring and executive functioning skills coaching within the daily high school schedule.

The LRC at Edgewood High School is staffed by professionals who specialize in various academic subjects and assist students at all levels of the Edgewood High School curriculum to meet the needs of approximately 15% of the student population. The LRC enrolls students who may have neurodivergent learning styles or formal diagnoses, a history of academic challenges in particular courses or subjects, or may greatly benefit from additional individualized support in addition to working with teachers directly during STAT (Student Teacher Academic Time - a 30 minute daily resource period for students) and with their school counselors. Student Services and the director of the LRC work together to determine enrollment in the program.
