INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLICATION

Edgewood will consider qualified international student applicants within the limits of our enrollment and space availability. All international students who attend Edgewood must be academically driven and proficient in English. We have the authorization to issue the I-20 forms to our international students so that they may obtain their F-1 student visa.

Key points for prospective international students to understand when considering application for admission:

  • Visa and Application Requirements: International families must follow national, international, and Edgewood’s application requirements for admission.
  • English Proficiency Requirement: All non-English speaking students must submit a passing TOEFL score to be considered for admission, as Edgewood does not offer ESL classes.
  • A Day School: Edgewood is only a day school and does not provide boarding or host family services.
  • Legal Guardianship: Parents or legal guardians who are not residing in Madison must arrange legal guardianship for their child.
  • Tuition and Financial Responsibility: Families are responsible for full tuition and fees, as Edgewood does not offer financial aid to international students.
  • Senior Year Policy: It is Edgewood’s policy to not accept students in their senior year.  International students wishing to attend only for their senior year will not receive a diploma, but a certificate of attendance as a foreign exchange student.

Please note that Edgewood’s semesters run on a slightly different timeline than area public schools:

  • 1st Semester: Mid-August (approx. Aug.15) - December
  • 2nd Semester: Early January - May
