The Edgewood Arts Department creates a supportive and enlightened environment where our students can discover, develop, and use their talents to the fullest. We encourage beginning interests and advanced abilities alike, through traditional and contemporary practice, with the aim of fostering in each student a willingness, a courage, and a true fascination with the world around them.

We recognize the importance of fine arts on growing well-rounded young adults. We require all Edgewood students to take at least one credit of fine arts during their high school career and many take more. Our fine arts programs offer creative and innovative opportunities for students through diverse curriculum in art, drama, and music. Students frequently submit their work to juried visual art shows and writing competitions. Students have many opportunities to showcase their talents through choral and instrumental music performances and theater productions.

Theater

Students at Edgewood have a wide variety of opportunities to develop and strengthen their theater skills. Whether you're drawn to performing on stage or working behind the scenes, there's a place for you. You can shine as an actor, or contribute your creativity and skills to building sets or running the vast array of technology.

Instrumental Music

Music is an intrinsic and fundamental part of the human experience and integral to whole person formation. Edgewood's offerings in band and instrumental music allow students to develop skills while nurturing an appreciation for music as an expression of both humanness and spirituality.

Choirs/Ensembles

Through various choral offerings, students learn the fundamentals of vocal technique, music theory, and sight singing as they develop respect and appreciation for the extraordinary capabilities of the human voice.

Visual Arts

Students studying visual arts at Edgewood can delve into drawing, painting, ceramics, design, photography, architectural drawing, art history, and more.
