New Family Guide

WELCOME TO EDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL
We are delighted that you are an EHS family, and we want you to feel at home. This is your school - and your community - throughout your time at EHS, and beyond.
 
We have gathered the information that we think you will find most helpful as you prepare for your transition to the Edgewood community.
 
This page was designed as a guide for your family and is filled with information, links, resources and answers just for you.

A GLOSSARY OF EDGEWOOD TERMS

Alumni Hall

A common area for all students that includes a lounge area. This space is also the cafeteria.

COMM

Center of Mission & Ministry. A place for students to pray, play and learn.

The Circle

The drop off/pick up area by the Performing Arts Center and Bishop's Doors.

Crusader Fund

The Crusader Fund provides support for academic programs and upkeep of facilities. 

Crusader Kickoff

The Edgewood Community kickoff to the new school year! Parents enjoy food, drinks, games, spiritwear, and special guests!

CSW

Catholic Schools Week. Occurs during the last week of January. Students compete in their Houses for the Dominican Shield.

Dominican Houses

All students and faculty belong to one of five houses, each named for an EHS Value and represented by distinct colors.

Delish

Our Winter Social and Fundraiser held in February. Food prepared by talented local chefs, and a fun unique venue each year!

Eddie's Hour

An hour built into the schedule each Thursday for students to take a brain break and try something new!

Eddie's Outfitters

EHS Spirit Store located in Alumni Hall. Open select times during the school year with a variety of items in stock.

EIC

Edgewood in the Community is a day of community service by all faculty and students! It begins and ends in prayer.

Encore

A Fund which directly supports all of the the Arts Programs and students at Edgewood High School.

EPC

The Edgewood Parent Community supports faculty and staff, and helps to facilitate various EHS events.

F.A.N

Family Ambassador Network! Made up of parents who LOVE EHS, and help spread the word in the community!

Giving Day

Each November we celebrate Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli's Birthday with a day of giving to support EHS!

House Council

Plans student life events and house competitions. There are representatives from each grade and house.

Inside Edge

The Inside Edge is the weekly parent email with school news and announcements, sent every Sunday evening.

Liturgy

Monthly Mass celebrated by visiting priests. Students wear their EHS Polo for both liturgy's and prayer services.

Mazzuchelli Fund

Named after EHS founder Fr. Samuel Mazzuchelli. Provides needs based tuition assistance so that EHS is accessible to all.

My School Bucks

The online payment system for school meals, allowing parents to load funds on their child's student ID.

Power School

Our online course and grading platform for faculty and students. Parents and students can log in to view grades and courses.

STAT

Student Teacher Academic Time. Allowing students to meet with teachers outside of class time or can be used as a study time.

Welcome Week

The first week of school where we welcome new families and students. Our Induction Ceremony and Orientation happens during this week.
